Eligibility Requirements at Life, Hope and Change

Life, Hope & Change (LHC) – Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for participation in Life, Hope & Change (LHC) programs and/or transitional housing, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Basic Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a 18 years of age or older female

  • Be experiencing one or more of the following:

    • Transition from incarceration or reentry

    • Homelessness or housing instability

    • Recovery from substance abuse

    • Domestic violence, abuse, or trauma

    • Economic hardship or lack of support systems

Commitment & Participation

Applicants must be willing to:

    • Actively participate in case management, mentoring, and assigned programming

    • Attend required individual and group sessions, including life-skills training, and workforce development programs

    • Follow all program rules, curfews, and guidelines

    • Commit to personal growth, accountability, and recovery goals

    Sobriety & Behavioral Expectations

    Applicants must:

    • Be willing to maintain a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle

    • Agree to random drug and alcohol screenings, if applicable

    • Demonstrate respectful behavior toward staff, volunteers, and other residents

    • Have no active violent behavior that would pose a safety risk to others

    Legal & Safety Considerations

    Applicants:

    • May have a criminal background; however, acceptance is determined on a case-by-case basis

    • Must disclose any pending legal matters

    • Cannot have offenses that would compromise the safety of residents, staff, or the community (final determination at LHC’s discretion)

    Financial Responsibility

    Applicants must:

    • Be willing to contribute to program requirements such as:

      • Program fees or housing contributions (if applicable)

      • Personal expenses (food, hygiene items, transportation, etc.)

    • Participate in employment readiness, job search activities, or educational programs as outlined in their individual service plan

    Documentation Requirements

    Applicants must be willing to work toward obtaining or providing:

    • Valid photo identification

    • Social Security card

    • Birth certificate

    • Any additional documentation required for employment, benefits, or housing stability

    Final Determination

    • Admission into Life, Hope & Change programs is based on eligibility, availability, intake assessment, and program fit

    • Acceptance is at the sole discretion of Life, Hope & Change leadership

    • LHC reserves the right to deny or terminate participation if program expectations are not met
